The Big Bear and the Blueberry Moon is about a bear who eats the moon. The story was written on a long walk under a starry night sky and it explores the relationship between one giant bear and his community. How does growth change our relationship and responsibility to community? How does being part of a community or being excluded from a community impact our inside the tummy feelings?
The story also includes many tiny fables along the way. Why does the moon have a bite out if it? Why do trees fall over in the forest? Why do tides run up the beach? Why are birds so sneaky? I guess this story doesn't really answer that last question. I'll have to write another book someday.
