Welcome to Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever Fabric, Fiber & Gifts is your destination for wonderful Alaska-themed and locally designed fabrics, yarn, clothing, art, ivory, jewelry gifts, and more. We are nestled in the G Street Arts District in downtown Anchorage where you will find great food, art galleries and boutiques.

Founded in 1998 by Jana Hayenga, we are proud to offer old-school customer service with some of the best of Alaska’s fabrics, fiber & gifts. We aspire to carry on Jana’s legacy today connecting you to some of Alaska’s best gifts, fabric and yarn designed and made by creative, hard working Alaskans.

Alaska Gifts & Art

With over 25 years of experience in the Alaska arts community, we’ve curated the best of the best Alaska gifts for locals and visitors alike. We are proud of our locally made pottery, hand crafted jewelry, traditional ulu knives, local books, art prints, wood carvings, ornaments, clothing, games and puzzles, Alaskan foods and beverages, and more.

Quilting & Hand Sewing

We’re a cozy store with over 1,000 bolts of delightful Alaskan fabrics including a huge selection of unique, batiks featuring Alaska’s flowers, berries, birds, wildlife, sea life and Alaskan cultural icons including ulus, bush planes and snow machines. We are proud to feature the designs of local artisans from around the state and carry many exclusive quilting patterns and kits by talented Alaskan artists. We also carry a selection of delightful notions, Alaska themed cross stitch and embroidery kits, qaspeq patterns (pronounced kus-puk), wall hangings, finished quilts, and more. 

Yarn, Knitting & Crochet

Our selection of locally hand-dyed yarns is second to none! We carry a wide range of fiber and color options all hand dyed here in Alaska, including Qiviut (pronounced kiv-ee-oot) which is musk ox yarn in a range of beautiful jewel tones dyed exclusively for our store. It’s eight times warmer than wool, warm when wet and washable.
